The Thursday e vening ‘What is worker co-op’ session is a free ev ent aimed at The Holbeck’s members and local resid ents\, supported by Stir to Action.

T he Autumn Assembly is a chance for member s of our federation to come together and take stoc k of what we have built so far and join others\, w hether from our local communities\, new generation s or sectors of workers\, or the wider co-operativ e movement\, to explore future possibilities toget her.
\n \nThis year we’re hosting the Autum n Assembly in a new kind of space at The Holbeck i n Leeds\, a community club which has been serving its members and the wider community for 150 years. We are connecting with Stir to Action's 21st Cent ury Social Club\, an essential\, long term initiat ive to revitalise member-owned social spaces for a new generation.
\n \nPreserving and growi ng community spaces which are democratically run b y the people who use them is essential to worker c ooperation. These spaces bring us together\, foste r the skills we need to participate effectively in direct democracy in our working lives and build o ur capacity to advocate for worker control.
\n \nProgramme
\n \nThe t heme for the Autumn Assembly explores the social infrastructure needed for worker co-operati ves to grow. The programme will have spac e for member submissions for workshops and activit ies\, alongside skill-shares and training sessions over the two days.
\n \nWe'll be hosting b reak-out sessions covering some of the federation' s main activities and working groups and a worksho p to find out about the key issues in your co-op. We're also looking forward to collaborating with T he Holbeck and Stir to Action by facilitating a pu blic evening session on 'what is a worker co-op'.< /p>\n \n
\n \nAs always the programme will be memb er-led\, please add submissions to the collaborati ve document above.
\n \nWhich training topics wo uld you like at Autumn Assembly?
\n \nBased on previous demand we expect the training to centre around finance and the impact of the Emplo yment Rights Act on co-ops\, but we would love to organise around demand so fill out the poll to hav e your say on what your co-op could most benefit f rom!
\n \nOur Thursday evening soci al will be joining in with The Holbeck’s weekly pu b quiz.
\n \n6pm onwards
\n \nWe'll organise a table at a local restaurant if you want to grab food with others between the end of Thursday's programme and the evening social at 8pm.
\n \n7.45pm onwards
\n \nArriv e for 7.45pm. The quiz starts at 8pm\, 4 per team\ , 40 questions and the winning team gets a £30 bar tab.
