\n \nIn 2022 we did someting amazing: we created a federa tion that we own and that we alone are responsible for. The Autumn Assembly is a chance for members to come together and take stock of what we have bu ilt so far\, and join others\, whether from our lo cal communities\, new generations or sectors of wo rkers\, or the wider co-operative movement to expl ore future possibilities together.
\n \nTyp ically the federation's annual in-person events ha ve had slightly different feels - the Spring time Worker Co-op Weekend has been a larger\, more outw ard facing event focused on movement building\, br inging together new co-ops and coalitions\, wherea s the Autumn Assembly has taken on an inward orien tation focusing more on existing members and the d evelopment of the federation itself.
\n \nT he Autumn Assembly will still be an opportunity fo r members and supporters to meet up\, learn\, shar e and take stock as we continue to create our coll aborative\, democratic systems within and beyond t he worker co-op federation. But now our vision for the federation is about expanding to new audience s\, workers\, specific sectors and really wanting to step out of our baby clothes into the next stag e\, which will bring up questions and challenges a long the way.
\n \nSo\, rather than run ano ther event aimed at the same members who come each time\, we've planned to host the Autumn Assembly in a new kind of space\, and bring the concept of worker cooperation to more people. We also know ho w valuable people's time is and are trying our bes t to make the event really worth attending by orga nising some high value skill-shares and training i n advance\, alongside fun study visits to local co -operatives.

The event tickets wi ll cover lunch and tea/coffee/snacks during the da y\, and we'll organise a social in a cafe/restaura nt nearby for the evening.

We'll be hosting break-o ut sessions covering some of the federation's main activities and working groups (mentoring\, learni ng programme\, strategic group development) and a workshop to find out about the top issues in your co-op. We're also looking forward to collaborating with the venue we book and Stir to Action by faci litating a learning session on 'what is a worker c o-op' aimed at the venue's users - if you'd like t o be involved get in touch.
