Who we are - workers.coop

The UK federation of worker co-ops is a new type of member-driven body that combines the organising models of a federation, a grassroots union and a movement. We are a democratic, non-hierarchical organisation run through working groups with a board and part-time workers to support its mission.

Membership is made up of about 100 members across different sectors and a handful of worker members across working groups. Working groups include Board, Digital , People, Policy & Care (PPC), Communications, Movement Building, International, and Co-op Support & Development.

We are truly member-led, with around 20 active individual voluntary members who sit on different working groups carrying the strategy and mission forwards, alongside two part-time workers, a board Secretary and Own The Future programme coordinator.
