About the event
A look at Radical HR approaches being used in worker co-ops and how they make for better worker co-ops. Showcasing techniques that could/should be used more.
This is our third webinar, run by Abbie and Lorraine from People Support Co-op on behalf of our member learning group. At People Support we believe in anti-oppressive, co-operative HR, which for us stands for Human Relationships, and we reject the deeply-problematic notion of human beings being resources in exploitative capitalist systems.
Lorraine and Abbie draw on their many years of experience in the worker co-op movement alongside their employment law training and current work with the RadHR network to showcase opportunities for co-ops to create co-operative alternatives to standard HR policies.
Who is it for?
This workshop is for all co-op members with an interest in co-operative HR. It will be particularly valuable for anyone with HR / Personnel / People responsibilities in their co-ops.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain the concept of ‘radical’ co-operative HR
- Understand how to approach developing co-operative HR policies and procedures that build in the voices and experiences of their members
- Make use of practical guidance materials to develop legally-compliant, values-driven policies that meet the needs of their co-ops and their members
