Stirchley Co-operative Development launch

About the event

Join Birmingham worker co-ops for the launch event of their co-operative construction project on the high street

Join Birmingham worker co-ops for the launch of their co-operative construction project, where they will be breaking ground on the construction site in Stirchley, South Birmingham. Birmingham Bike Foundry, Loaf and Artefact, together with local housing co-ops, are coming together with the wider community, friends and family to celebrate the start of construction of the Stirchley Co-operative Development project.

Stirchley Co-operative Development will consist of 39 affordable flats with three retail units for the worker co-operatives below the flats (plans on our website). This project, costing £8.6 million, is located on the high street and has come together over the years but will finally break ground! The development challenges local gentrification, rising rents and lack of tenant control, and the worker co-ops have been able to input and shape the design of their very new retail spaces.

If you are in the region and would like to attend email info@stirchley.coop for details.
